Jodi Shaw: American Hero

I think a lot of us have a sense that there is something deeply wrong in America. The sense that there is an army of half-assed mediocre-brained wannabe authoritarians sweeping through our institutions using fear, intimidation, and cancel culture to reshape those institutions in their own vaguely Marixist, and entirely stupid, image.

A lot of us want to do something to defend ourselves and our institutions, but few of us know exactly what to do, or how. This is not (yet) a hot Civil War, so the options for “fighting back” seem very limited to most of us, and the options that do exist seem fraught with personal and professional danger.

One thing I think we can all do is to be vigilant and watch the battlefield… to keep our eyes open. Heroes will rise, and when they do we need to stand behind them and defend them to the best of our ability. Not all of us are willing to risk our livelihoods and that of our families to stand up for what’s right, but we can all stand behind those who find the courage to do so on our behalf.

Jodi Shaw is such a hero, and having stood up for her beliefs and for civilization as we know and understand it, she deserves our full-throated support. I would urge everyone to go to her GoFundMe Page and donate to her cause, as I did.

The more people who stand up and find themselves instantly and robustly supported, the easier it will be for the next hero to emerge.

And the next.

And the next…

In such ways, Liberty may be successfully defended.
