I’m watching one of those stories develop that, assuming anyone notices, is the kind of story that drives people who want sane deliberative Government absolutely crazy.
Pette Buttigieg wants to raise the Federal Gas tax… which means he wants to increase the monthly expenses of almost every American. This is a move that, of course, will hit the poorest Americans the hardest because they tend to have longer commutes, and they don’t have as much disposable income to begin with.
But on the other hand, Pete, and Andrew Yang, and Bernie, and Elizabeth Warren, and AOC, and Biden… hell, almost the entirety of the Democratic Elite have embraced the idea of Universal Basic Income.
Got that? With one hand they are going to reach into your left pocket to steal money from you in the form of increased gas (and a million other kinds of) taxes, while with the other hand they’ll reach into your right pocket to fill it with the same damned money they just took from you…
…and then they’re going to demand that you thank them for it.
Anyone who behaved this way in an insane assylum would have their meds increased.
