That way lies Evil

This is evil. And I don’t use that word lightly…

To save you the click, this is the story of a University Professor forced to submit to unecessary medical procedures as a condition of keeping his job after expressing “wrongthink.”

In one of my first posts, titled NEVER AGAIN?, I quoted Burt Lancaster’s famous speech from JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG to show the template that otherwise good people use to convince themselves that supporting a Totalitarian Government is not only good but Patriotic. I changed the targeted groups from Lancaster’s speech to show that the template can be used by all kinds of oppressive regimes both on the Right and Left, not just the Nazis. But there is another subplot from JUDGMENT AT NURMENBERG that I thought about as I read this story.

In the film, Montgomery Clift plays a mentally handicapped man who was forcibly sterlized by the Nazi regime, one of many thousands of men and women on whom this unecessary medical procedure was performed, not just as part of a massive campaign of Eugenics, but as part of a plan to eliminate all political and social undesirables. But the important thing to remember is that sterilization was not where the Nazis began and it’s certainly not where they wound up. Sterilization was but one stop on a slippery sloped train that started with laws favoring certain groups of people over others and wound up in the ovens of Auschwitz and Treblinka. And each step along the way not only made the next step possible, but more likely.

“But that could never happen here”, you’re saying. Except that it HAS happened here… go Google “Buck Vs. Bell“, the Supreme Court Case which produced the infamous Oliver Wendell Holmes quote “three generations of imbeciles is enough.”

There is a common belief in America’s most Left-leaning insitutions, which incluldes the Media and all of Academia, that Conservative opinions are not just wrong, but evidence of a mental disorder. And here at the University of Illinois (Chicago) we can see the terrifying end-results of that belief, even at an insititution that is no doubt entirely “Progressive” from top to bottom.

And no, a drug test and a psychological examination are not the same as forced sterilization, but they exist on the same continuum. There was zero evidence that this Professor was either insane or on drugs, and yet he was forced to submit to a humiliating drug test and a psychological examination… by doctors who should have known better. Because where does that kind of thing lead?

Once you have used your own power to force a person that you dislike, or with whom you disagree, to submit to one kind of medically unecessary procedure, it makes it a lot easier, when that first proceudre does not achieve the desired result, to order another procedure that’s slightly more invasive. And then another one after that… and another one after that… and before you know it, you’re saying to yourself, “these people just can’t be reformed, so we have to figure out a way to keep them from reproducing” (“three generations of Conservatives is enough”). And when that fails, the next step is to wonder… “how can we just eliminate them altogether?”

There’s nothing at the end of that road but mass graves.

  1. This is terrifying, but sadly, not surprising in this nation of blind & deaf (figuratively speaking) and brainwashed individuals.
