Every Spring, the NCAA puts on March Madness, a single elimination tournament for the Nation’s best Men’s Basketball programs. The tournament features 64 teams split into 4 regions. Within each region, teams are ranked from #1 to #16. Now, while it is, techincally, possible for a 16 seed to win the entire tournament, it is very unlikely. Until very recently, no 16 seed had won even a single game, much less the 6 straight victories required to win the entire tournament outright.
Thought Experiment: If you had a friend or a relative who became so obssessed with the idea of a 16 seed winning March Madness that they could not move on with their life what would you do? Of course you would intervene in some way, even if it was just to suggest that this person get some professional help.
That’s where I am with the idea of decertifying the 2020 election almost a full year after the fact. Some of y’all need professional help.
Some of you have gone completely wacko over this issue. Kurt Schlichter made this exact same argument on Twitter last week and for his trouble, a portion of his followers began calling him a back-stabbing RINO… Kurt Freakin Schlichter! After the election Kurt got on a plane and went to Nevada to fight for election integrity and as far as I know, he did it pro bono. All he got for his trouble was a case of COVID. So if you think Kurt is a back-stabbing RINO for suggesting that we need to move on from a lost cause, YOU are the crazy one in the relationship, not Kurt.
I don’t believe there is ANY realistic path to removing Biden from office and installing Donald Trump as President, but for the sake of argument, let’s assume that there is such a path, even if the chances are as remote as a 16 seed winning March Madness. Let’s imagine for a miniute that some clever Republican in the Trump-friendly wing of the party comes up with one… how would it get done? The GOP does not control even a single branch of Government. The Democrats can easily shut down any effort the GOP might attempt.
OK so then we wait for the Midterms and hope the GOP takes back both houses of Congress, right? And then what? Any effort to reverse the election would take time, at least a year, because whatever the GOP might do would get challenged in every court in America all the way up to the Supreme Court, and then… does anyone reading this actually believe that the Roberts Court would ever, EVER, rule that Joe Biden must be dragged from office and Donald Trump installed as President? Not in a million years… never ever gonna happen. And if you believe it would, you’re crazier than I thought.
But why does it even matter? Biden is a disaster. If you think a Trump Presidency is the only way to save the country, then you need to focus on getting him elected in 2024. He has a good chance… a MUCH better chance, frankly, than the chances of overturning the 2020 election. And again, even if you could get the election overturned, at best, you’ll get Trump installed for a year, max. What good would that do?
By all means, use the state audits to argue for protections to make sure future elections are secure, I fully support that effort, but we need to accept reality and move on. Focus on 2022 and 2024. I assure you that the Democrats are, and while you’re obsessing over the idea of a 16 seed winning March Madness, they are plotting to win those elections in such a way that the GOP never wins again.
Stop obsessing over something that will never happen and focus your eyes on the big prize. If you want Trump back in the White House, decertification is not the way, winning the 2024 Election is the way.
